Harsh Realities

Down to 177
then up to 178 again. Ugh. Forgot how hard this was.

The night before new years we went over to the Velez families for dinner and had awesome Latin food...a day later we were at Dona Ligia's for more Latin food. Result? Overkill. To much of a good thing leads to a hard end of the year.

Today (Monday, Jan. 2) however, we are all revitalized and ready to take on the challenge. Already making an effort to take a look at whats in what we are eating again and opting for the better choice.

Tonight for dinner we had a killer wholewheat pasta with white beans, fresh tomatoes, garlic and olive oil. Probably no more than 7 points. With Luly on board now too, I think that we stand a chance of making it!

Breathing Again

178
Whew. I was worried there for a minute. I needed the boost of losing the three pounds. I must admit I hate even being close to 180. Weight Watchers was good to us and taught us a lot. We will most likely go bak on WW when we go back to work. I can't wait to be back to 165-67. That's the goal.

What do you think of the creative photography?

Christmas Day

Ok, so it didn't start out to bad. One slice of coffee cake and a half a bagel with butter for breakfast. Lunch was some leftovers from the night before--but not a lot. Actually thought I was doing pretty good.

It was dinner that killed me. I had three tacos and a burrito all with everything. For some reason they just hit the spot. Then to make matters worse a small piece of apple pie and a small serving of flan. Should have skipped the pie. Not worth it.

The only thing that may have saved me was that while looking at shortcuts to Tim Ferris's 4 Hour Body, I stumbled on a blog of a guy who lost 10 pounds in a week just by drinking water. Granted he drank a ton of water each day, but I thought worth a try. I think that I must have had at least 20 glasses of water throughout the day.

I'll let you know in a few days what I think. One does get tired of going to the bathroom all the time.

Christmas in Boston

Day one was bad but not so bad.

Big binge was three empanadas that my wife's God mother had made. Phenomenal and worth every bit of setback they might have caused. We ate an apple in the car plus a small box of turron that someone had given us for Christmas.

Once we got to Boston around 3:30PM I had an English muffin with butter and cheese and then rotisserie chicken with about four spoonfuls of rice pilaf for dinner.

Not interested in weighing in yet. I need to stick to my little routine of 3 large glasses of water, 100 pushups and the 250 crunches for sure.

The 10 Pound Problem

So I decided to weigh myself too late this morning.

Usually I weigh myself minutes after I get up (4:50AM). I get on the scale before I have anything to drink. Today I made the mistake of waiting for an hour or so and had coffee and three large glasses of water--big mistake. I weighed in at 181. Ugh.

It confirms that I need to drop at least 10-13 lbs as soon as possible. Seeing that number in print makes it even more of a reality. Hope to get through Christmas without more damage.
